Des Moffatt Western Community Centre was renamed to this in 2021 in honour of the late Des Moffatt.
First named Western Community Centre was opened by the then Mayor of Thamesdown Borough Council, CLLR. Jim Masters on September 17th, 1983.
The Community centre has been managed by a registered charity committee team, who tirelessly give up their time to ensure the centre offers the very best to the community.
The community centre is very well used by several local community groups including U3A Groups supporting elderly including, Pins & needles and Art.
We also have lots of other groups including Slimming World, Martial Arts, Spiritualism and off course the much-loved Bingo and so many more.
If you are looking for a room that is perfect for small groups to meet than look no further.
The lounge boasts 20 soft cushioned chairs, this room is currently used for woodwind band, meeting, training courses and spiritualism.
Our small is the perfect room for up to 50 people seated.
The very light lounge room backs onto our flowered patio area with picnic benches and garden.
Our main hall is perfect for birthday parties, weddings, wakes and gatherings.
The hall has a seated capacity of 100.
Well decorated room is perfect if you are also looking to hire a room for a long-term group.
Our kitchen facility benefits from a self-filling kettle boiler, Gas cooker and oven.
We have a recently refurbished toilets, including baby changing facilities.
Our trustees recently purchased five new picnic benches for our community and guest to enjoy the new flower gardens in the sun.
