We are thrilled to welcome Hype Nation Academy to our community.
Founded by Swindon-born performer Bethany Cooper, Hype Nation Academy is more than a performing arts school — it’s a place where passion meets purpose. With training in dance, acting, and singing, the academy nurtures not only performers but confident, creative, and resilient individuals ready to shine on stage and in life.
From professional-standard training and performance opportunities to a supportive, family-like community, Hype Nation Academy is dedicated to inspiring the next generation of performers. Their ethos is built on excellence, passion, opportunity, and community — values that align perfectly with our own.
This exciting new partnership will open doors for local talent, giving young people the chance to learn, grow, and step into their spotlight. Together, we look forward to building confidence, unlocking potential, and celebrating the joy of performance.

Board of trustees
The Des Moffatt Western Community Centre has proudly served the people of Swindon since it first opened its doors on September 17th, 1983, by the then Mayor of Thamesdown Borough Council, Cllr. Jim Masters. In 2021, the Centre was renamed in honour of the late Des Moffatt, a much-respected community leader who dedicated many years to supporting local people.
Our Centre is managed by a passionate and committed team of charity trustees and volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure we remain a thriving, inclusive, and welcoming hub for all. We are proud to provide a safe and accessible space where individuals of all ages and backgrounds can connect, learn, grow, and thrive.
The Centre is home to a wide variety of groups and activities that support health, well-being, creativity, and social connection. Current offerings include Toddler Sense, Parky Singers, Tai Chi, Kentwood Choir, NHS-run health sessions, U3A groups, Harmonic Choir, Song Birds, Showgirl Workout, Slimming World, Arty Farty Arts Group, Community Bingo, Creative Treasure, Church groups, Martial Arts, Spiritual development, and many more. These groups support a diverse community, bringing together children, families, older adults, and individuals with a range of needs and abilities.
Whether you're looking to stay active, meet new people, get creative, or access support, the Des Moffatt Western Community Centre is here for you.
